From the Pyramids of Giza to a Nile River cruise and watching the sun rise over Luxor, Egypt has a wealth of memorable locations that would make for a winning proposal spot. But Emma Thomas, an Egypt specialist, likes to go beyond the obvious and created something truly special when she recently planned a trip with a proposal element.
“There are plenty of places you could propose in Egypt, and if you’re going to be in Cairo, the pyramids may seem like an obvious choice – but because I’ve lived in Egypt, I knew the perfect place,” says Thomas. “I suggested that we could arrange a private dining table to be set up at the gorgeous Mena House Hotel, where the couple was staying. With the pyramids right behind them, it made an exquisite backdrop for when he got down on one knee.”

During a trip visiting American cities along the East Coast, clients of Dean Westbrook (USA travel specialist) proposed in the glamorous gem shop. “She loves the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” says Westbrook. “So he took her into Tiffany’s and he completely surprised her with the proposal, and then they picked out a ring together on the spot!”
Falling deeper in love at Iguaçu Falls in Brazil
