Following the completion of the first phase of its Signature Apartments, the Algarve’s stunning Palmares Ocean Living & Golf has welcomed its first owners into their new homes.

The apartments have been designed to forge an exceptional harmony between residential accommodation, the lush greenery of the natural landscape and the beautiful backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. A construction density of just 5.7% and strict parameters to protect the sea and golf views, including height limits and building implementation zones, have ensured that every apartment benefits from the picturesque surroundings.

The design of the properties, by the Pritzker Prize-winning RCR Arquitectes, was inspired by the textures and colours of the natural landscape, from the yellows and oranges of the sandy shoreline to the green and brown hues of the surrounding vegetation. The colour palettes flow across the interiors of the homes as well as the exteriors, delivering a delightful sense of balance with nature throughout the apartments. Natural materials and tones abound, from the stone baseboards of the floor to the rich clay colouring of the insulated Stucco finish.

As well as welcoming owners, the Signature Apartments are also now welcoming rental guests. Holidaymakers can choose between two- and three-bedroom luxury apartments, with views over the Alvor Estuary and Meia Praia beach.

Palmares Ocean Living & Golf is already home to a boutique, 20-room, five-star hotel, with the resort masterplan including a second hotel and a total of 460 homes (357 apartments and 103 villas). Construction of Phase II of the Signature Apartments is already underway, with work due for completion during Q4 2024. Apartment prices start from €600,000. Plots are also available for bespoke villas, with ocean-view land priced from €1.25 million.

The Signature Apartments have been designed in line with the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) sustainability accreditation framework. This covers a range of factors, from daylight exposure and water-saving to the use of responsibly sourced materials during the construction process.

This commitment to harmonious, sustainable design can also be seen in the recently built Clubhouse at Palmares. The prize-winning venue is also the work of RCR Arquitectes and is home to the Michelin-starred Al Sud restaurant. The resort is also home to a 27-hole golf course designed by American architect Robert Trent Jones Jr, with annual golf membership for two people included with the purchase of every home.

According to Kronos Homes, which owns and operates Palmares Ocean Living & Golf, the Signature Apartments have proven so popular that 80% of the second phase has already sold out.

“The magnificent setting and our careful attention to detail in terms of building in harmony with nature has proven extremely popular with buyers from around the world. We are delighted to be welcoming our first Signature Apartment owners to their new homes, as well as to report that just 20% of our Phase II apartments remain available for purchase.”
