Soft launch offer 11th-13th September: 50% off mains for breakfast and lunch
Karapincha, a Sri Lankan soul food concept by twin sisters Vasanthini and Dharshini Perumal, has confirmed the opening of its Canary Wharf location on 11th September, and will be kicking off with a special soft launch offer of 50% off mains from Monday 11th – Wednesday 13th September.*
Opening in Canary Wharf tube station, this will be the first bricks-and-mortar location for the identical twin sisters, who swapped careers in finance in favour of flavour.
Combining fierce, vibrant flavours with bright island energy, Karapincha has already earned a reputation as one of the best places for authentic Sri Lankan cuisine in the capital and has made its mark as a trader in three of London’s most popular food markets: Spitalfields Market, Elephant & Castle’s Mercato Metropolitano, and Market Place Vauxhall.
Now, keeping in step with commuter appetites, the new all-day Canary Wharf cafe’s menu will be the first of Karapincha’s eateries to offer breakfast which is expected to consist of dishes like French toast, Ceylon tea, and ham and cheese stuffed roti. Many of the sisters’ signature, homemade lunch and dinner dishes including Kothu Roti; Paratha; Rice boxes and Devilled chicken will also be cooked up and ready to be enjoyed either settled in seating for up to 10 people inside or boxed up to takeaway.
Everything at Karapincha is homemade, from the roti to the mayonnaise, to the spice blends and the curries; everything is cooked, simmered and chopped the way the twins were taught, and exactly as their mother’s old recipes state.
One of the many special ways in which Karapincha captures authentic Sri Lankan ‘home-cooked’ comfort is by filling its small kitchens with home cooks, not chefs.
