A trio of beautiful Georgian townhouses set on the promenade in the heart of cosmopolitan Cheltenham, No. 131 is The Lucky Onion’s flagship hotel. Classic on the outside, contemporary British on the inside, this home from home provides the perfect balance of sophistication and fun.

Owned by the entrepreneurial couple, Julian Dunkerton Founder and CEO of Superdry and his wife fashion designer Jade Holland Cooper, No. 131 is considered Cheltenham’s favourite place to stay and dine and opens a new world of aspirational dining and cocktail experiences in a unique and exquisite setting.

No. 131 hums with activity throughout the day – local coffee mornings and business breakfasts mix seamlessly with guests stepping out on their Cotswold adventures. Contemporary artwork from some of the UK’s biggest names – Sir Peter Blake, David Hockney, Banksy, Henry Hudson and Peter Doig – provide a striking backdrop.

The 36 spacious and cosy bedrooms across the property at No.131 are conceived with consistent individuality across the designs, sporting bold colours. Unique furniture fills the space – think exposed-brick walls, pendant lights mixed with cornices, antique doors and framed beetles and moths, plundered from artisans’ workshops and antique stores. Every detail is accounted for with each room kitted out with sumptuous Egyptian bed linen, heavenly Aqua de Parma products and either stroll-in double showers or roll-top baths, where you can soak away stresses before getting dressed up for a night out.

Food is a big thing at No. 131. Whether it’s a New York-inspired breakfast, Japanese sushi, at the newly opened signature fine-dining experience YOKU, a special 131 house blend coffee on the terrace or an indulgent lunch, we’ve got it sorted. At night, these buzzing spaces transform into intimate hideaways, where both locals and guests relax side by side.

The Terrace Restaurant at No.131 uses the best of seasonal ingredients sourced and gathered locally wherever possible, but always from British lands and shores. With a feast of a menu created by our passionate chefs, expect traditional classics and modern European dishes with the finale delivered in the tempting pudding menus.

Downstairs at No.131, Gin & Juice is Cheltenham’s hotspot and voted Gin Bar of the Year in the UK. During the day, tuck into beautiful brunches, super smoothies and the finest artisan coffees for miles around. Come evening, it’s time to party. Work your way through the free-flowing drinks list of over 400 gins (and growing) before hitting the dance floor to the tunes of our house DJs and special guests spinning into the early hours from Thursday through to Saturday. Or pop in on a school night for some sophisticated tipples with close friends.

No. 131 is the embodiment of heritage in harmony and hospitality without the fluff.
