If you’re looking for a slice of childhood nostalgia when passing Platform 9¾ at King’s Cross, luxury Grade II listed Great Northern Hotel has introduced its brand-new Afternoon Tea ‘That Must Not Be Named’.
Take a seat in the hotel’s RAILS brasserie and watch the muggles hustle and bustle below in King’s Cross, whilst indulging in a selection of whimsical savoury delicacies including “Herbologist’s” red pepper and cream cheese spinach wrap; tomato “Enchanted” arancini and delicate ham and mustard, and smoked salmon finger sandwiches.
The magic continues with an array of sweet treats including “Butterscotch beer” panna cotta; a crunchy passionfruit “Snitch”; Victoria sponge cake and a chocolate mousse frog. Homemade fruit and plain scones are served with strawberry jam and Cornish clotted cream.
Afternoon tea is served with unlimited loose-leaf blends from East India Tea Company whilst adults can add some sparkle with a glass of prosecco, Nyetimber English sparkling wine, or Billecart-Salmon champagne.
The Afternoon Tea ‘That Must Not Be Named’ is priced from £39.50 per person and is served Thursday to Sunday from 1pm-5pm in RAILS Restaurant.
Want to extend the enchantment even longer? Book the ‘Witchcraft and Wizardry’ package, including an overnight stay for two, in-room tricks and treats, and tickets and transfers to Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, priced from £599.
