Boutique retreat Merchants Manor overlooks Falmouth’s iconic Harbour and is just a few minutes walk away from the quayside, with its fascinating maritime heritage. Not far away are independent shops, cafés, and galleries, plus Blue Flag Gyllyngvase Beach which offers a host of water sports and facilities for families.

The Rooms
The 39 bedrooms have been individually designed with luxury finishes, plush bedding, and locally-sourced and restored antique furniture. There are balcony rooms and two Master Suites – one in the original Manor House and one in the later building to the rear of the property.

The Residences
Built-in 2018, the self-catered living spaces are perfect for couples and families and feature two bedrooms (one super king or twin and one king), two bathrooms, a kitchen living space, a private terrace with a jacuzzi hot tub, and a separate entrance.

Guests are able to still enjoy all of the facilities in the main hotel including the restaurant, swimming pool, gym, and spa. With timber frames, organic shapes, and quirky features, these AA 5 Gold Star rustic holiday homes draw inspiration from the rugged Cornish countryside. From £300 per night (min three-night stay).

Rastella restaurant
Rastella is the on-site 3 AA Rosette restaurant run by Cornish head chef Aiden Blakely-May. His dishes combine homegrown flavours with a lovingly-chosen wine list and ingredients include locally-sourced fish caught using the most sustainable methods possible, Terras Duck sustainably bred on a small-scale farm in the Fal Valley, and greens are grown in a market garden by the farmer and former Rick Stein head chef. Aiden says of his menu: ‘The food on your plate has a story, and we can tell you every step of it.’

Spa & Wellbeing
One of the only spa hotels in Falmouth to combine centuries-old rejuvenation techniques with well-being teachings from across the world, the Linen Rooms Spa is a calming space offering Temple Spa treatments from Indulgent Facials to Detoxifying Massages. Guests can work out in the Technogym and enjoy the 12-metre indoor swimming pool, aromatherapy steam room, and hydrotherapy pool.
