23 June 2022: This Summer Christabel’s members’ club is set to leave Fitzrovia to join the ranks of iconic members establishments such as Soho House and The Groucho Club in the heart of London’s Soho. Launching their new decadent hotspot at 17 Great Windmill Street, on the 7th of July.
Housed beneath the site of the historic Windmill Theatre, Christabel’s – in collaboration with The Cream Group (behind clubs such as Cirque Le Soir, Reign, and Wyld) – will deliver underground evenings of avant-garde entertainment and indulgence, live music and burlesque geared towards the most creative and eccentric of London’s various social sets.
Fuelled by a creative cocktail menu from celebrated mixologist Andy Mil, and fine dining from Michelin-star chef Andy McLeish, the Club also offers a lavish chesterfield furnished Cigar Humidor smoking lounge and secret back passage to the Windmill Theatre.
Entertainment: Well known for its wanton ‘Bands & Burlesque’ evenings and topical themes such as ‘PARTYGATE’ – the Club will continue to offer live entertainment in the form of new and established artists and bands, burlesque from Lady Fitz Von Titz and Miss Lucie Loo, alongside late-night DJ’s and dancing…
Having featured acts as diverse as the Mystery Jets to Jammer BBK and hosted bands such as Dexy’s Midnight Runners and Iron Maiden, the Club strives to offer something for every taste.
Like the clubs of old who found themselves integral to emerging music scenes, Christabel’s has become the home of ex-Oasis manager Alan McGee’s new outfit: punk-disco band The Gulps who filmed their music video for King Of The Disco and regularly perform secret shows at the club.
Dining: Boasting a menu designed by Michelin-starred chef Andrew McLeish (formerly of The Ritz) dining is an indulgent affair with lobster, caviar, steak, and truffle dishes on offer.
Cigar Humidor: Certainly something of a rarity, the Club accommodates a sophisticated smoking lounge for cigar aficionados with a state-of-the-art air extraction system and louche leather chesterfields.
The Windmill: VVIPs in the know may be given a tap on the shoulder and led down a secret back passage straight into the action of the famous Windmill Theatre – historically known for its racy tradition-defying performances.
Members: Christabel’s boasts an eclectic array of Founder Members including DJ Paul Oakenfold, ex-Babyshambles and Kooks musicians, and attracts many celebrities including actors from Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, and Dynasty.
From July the 7th Christabel’s will be open on Thursdays evenings from 8 pm – 3 am, extending to Fridays after the Summer. Membership starts from £500.00 p/a, with lifetime membership available and special rates for artists and musicians.
Non-members may obtain entry through VIP table bookings, subject to minimum spend and bottle service.
